FreightForce Announces Strategic Acquisition of MA and HV Medler
[Norwich, Norfolk] – [15/01/2025] –

FreightForce, a driving force in the freight and logistics industry, is excited to announce the acquisition of Norfolk-based MA and HV Medler (Haulage) Limited, signalling a strong start to 2025.

This strategic partnership unites two strong brands with long-standing reputations, loyal customers and a shared commitment to excellence and sustainability.
Medler joins FreightForce Distribution and together, as part of the FreightForce Group will form a bigger and better organisation, now boasting a fleet of over 100 vehicles, offering a wider range of services while driving towards a sustainable future.

Nick Jolley, Managing Director of FreightForce said: “We’re very excited to add Medler to the FreightForce Group. It’s a long-established family run haulage business that has been operating since 1978, with an excellent reputation for quality, fantastic people and we’re looking forward to driving forward together.”

Commitment to employees and infrastructure

A key element of the acquisition is the retention of ALL employees and premises for both FreightForce and Medler, with business largely continuing as normal but with additional capability.

By maintaining the expertise and dedication of their teams, as well as their operational infrastructure, the partnership will ensure continuity and stability for employees and customers.
“The decision to retain all employees and premises underlines our commitment to the people and communities in Norfolk that have been integral to MA and HV Medler’s success.
“Together we’re building a future which is more sustainable and gives security to customers and staff.” added Martin Halliday, Commercial Director of FreightForce.
Strengthening Capabilities
Both businesses firmly believe the acquisition will make for a larger and stronger organisation enabling the delivery of a wider array of flexible services, continuing with full loads, bulk haulage and Moffatt deliveries but also now including pallet network services, groupage/part loads, international consignments, storage, pick & pack, container devanning, together with Freighttrain offerings of Class 1 Driver training and forklift training.
This will ensure both businesses are better placed to supply greater capacity for customers old and new, making a robust sustainable company, capable of rising to the challenges that 2025 is likely to bring to the haulage industry.
As a direct result of the acquisition and demonstrating the integrated approach going forward, Sarah Alston will join Nick Jolley and Martin Halliday on the Board of Directors at FreightForce, with Nick and Martin also joining Sarah on the Board at Medler.
Sarah Alson, Director of Medler commented: “We are proud to become members of the team at FreightForce and we’re delighted this move will allow us to continue to support the customers and staff which have grown our business over the last 47 years.
“This acquisition represents a significant milestone in our journey and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”

FreightForce and Medler would like to thank Neil Carpenter from FFS Associates for providing practical business support, together with corporate finance and M&A advice to successfully manage the transaction to completion.

FreightForce Distribution has opened a new £2.5 million warehouse facility in Great Yarmouth amid growing demand for storage services.

The new warehouse will enable FreightForce to store 5,000 additional pallets – taking its total capacity to over 9,000 pallets. It complements the company’s existing headquarters in Norwich.
An adjoining canopy area for transhipment and container devanning means the entire operation is undercover and customers goods are safe from inclement weather.

This business expansion has been supported by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, through the Growing Business Fund and has created new jobs in the area for warehouse and driving staff.

With enhanced storage facilities, the business now looks forward to being able to offer its customers a ‘total transport solution’ from container devanning, storage, pick and pack and distribution.
